There are many chocolate chip cookie recipes out there but this was Betuls favorite by far. But she especially likes the dough...like any good American!
1 Cup butter
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla (in Betul's case she uses 2 tablespoons, she gets mixed up)
1 egg
2 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2bcups chocolate chips
(chopped walnuts optional)
makes 3 dozens...depending on the size you make them...
Preheat oven 375. In a small mixing bowl, stir flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg, Beat well. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Mix well. Place in balls on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-15 minutes.
